Brooklyn Avenue School students present village history book; Valley Stream board issues citations

Mayor Fred thanked the students and their teacher, saying, "In my 21 years in office, it was probably one of the most professional interviews I've ever had in my life." The board presented each boy with a citation and prepared a citation for Brooklyn Avenue School to be given to Principal Dr. Comas.
The mayor noted that Mrs. Bogle had facilitated the students' original visit and tour of Village Hall. The village historian, Mrs. McKenna, offered to place the students' book in the village archives or a public display area so residents can see the class project. Board members emphasized the project’s role in local civic education and noted the timing amid the village’s 100th anniversary year.
