Council approves $4.52 million in bills and several consent items; comptroller reports positive net through August

The River Falls City Council voted on Sept. 9 to approve bills totaling $4,516,795.63, subject to the comptroller's review, and passed the consent agenda that included a memorandum of understanding with the River Falls Disc Golf Club for maintenance of Sterling Hills Disc Golf Course and adoption of the River Falls Emergency Operations Plan.
Council Member Morissette moved approval of the bills and a second was recorded; the motion carried on a voice vote. The meeting record shows the motion was approved; no roll-call vote or individual tallies were taken during the public session.
During the meeting's financial update, Scott, the city's comptroller, reported General Fund revenues through August 31 were $10,521,860, or 78% of the total budgeted revenues for the year. August receipts included $3,209,946 in property-tax payments, $72,600 in payment-in-lieu-of-tax (housing authority portion) and $15,260 in building-permit fees. Expenditures through August were $8,475,160, or 63% of budgeted expenditures, leaving net revenues over expenditures of $2,046,700 as of Aug. 31.
The council approved the consent agenda by motion and voice vote; items approved under consent included the Sterling Hills Disc Golf Course MOU and the River Falls Emergency Operations Plan.
The mayor also read a proclamation recognizing the River Falls Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau during Chamber of Commerce Month. The meeting adjourned following consent approvals and the proclamation.
