On Sept. 11 the Peabody City Council approved the transfer of a Class 2 motor‑vehicle license for a used‑car lot at 249 Andover Street from Auto Choice (Jeremy Martin) to Car Diva Inc., operated by Mohammed Al Omari. Councilor Peach moved approval with conditions limiting the number of unregistered vehicles and prohibiting loading/unloading in the public way.
Councilor Peach said the existing license allowed up to 32 unregistered vehicles and that the site plan attached to the application showed space for 32 vehicles. The council agreed to limit the new license to 30 unregistered vehicles to preserve customer parking space and to reiterate the existing ordinance forbidding unloading or loading vehicles in the public way. The applicant confirmed the business will coordinate deliveries from the company’s other location and use dealer plates for vehicles moved to the Andover Street lot.
The council approved the license transfer by roll call vote, 11–0, and the clerk will record the conditions with the license.
