City staff reported a series of community updates during the meeting. Miss Addington thanked volunteers and said the city collected 405 pounds of food for Ozarks Food Harvest—95 pounds more than last year—and estimated that amount would provide about 350 meals. "Together, we donated 405 pounds of food, which was 95 pounds more than last year. And with our estimate, that's about 350 meals," Addington said.
Addington also announced the Republic Racer Car Show scheduled for Saturday on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and noted that a Community Development newsletter with information about projects coming to Republic is available at council members' tables and online. She said the council has a busy October schedule, with meetings and a budget workshop set in mid- and late-October and that budget documents would be distributed to council members in advance of the workshop.
Mayor Eric Franklin and council members also thanked staff for their response to a recent water-main break; the mayor noted the public works department restored service quickly. The meeting included recognition of two proclamations presented earlier: Missouri Good Neighbor Week (Sept. 28–Oct. 4) and September as National Service Dog Awareness Month; the proclamations were presented to David Burton and to Becky and her service dog Michael before the meeting began.
These reports were informational; no council action was taken on the items reported.
