Parent urges Lakeville board to give Lakeville North identity to Blanchard Aquatic Center

Mike Colbert, a parent of two Lakeville North students and swim team members, used the public‑comment period on Sept. 9 to ask the board to add school identity elements to the Blanchard Aquatic Center so it feels like a "home" pool for Lakeville North athletes.
"The only problem is it doesn't look like a Lakeville North pool," Colbert said. He described missing banners, trophy cases and a record board and said students train 18 hours a week and deserve a stronger home‑team presence when other teams visit.
Colbert proposed using parent volunteers and fundraising to install school banners and display cases. Board procedure notes provided during the meeting said public comments will receive no board response during the session and that complaints about individual students or staff are not appropriate in the public forum.
No board action was taken during the meeting. The comment closed the public comment period for the session.
