Greene County commissioners on Sept. 11 approved a grant agreement with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to continue participation in the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program; county staff said the foundation provides roughly $95,000 annually that helps fund one county caseworker.
A staff presenter said the county has participated in the program for 12 years and that the foundation provides a prescribed program model in return for funding. “They have a prescribed, way that we need to go about doing business. And in return, they provide about $95,000 in funding that helps, pay for 1 of our caseworkers,” the staff member said.
Commissioners moved to approve the grant agreement; Commissioner Gould voted aye and Commissioner Mays voted aye, and the motion passed.
The meeting record did not identify the precise grant term, the full salary/cost of the funded caseworker, or whether the county supplements the foundation funding from other sources.
