Staff recommended approval, citing minimal traffic impact as Shannon Winona Road is a major collector (per ALDOT) and the site’s prior demolition of a deteriorated residence.
Applicant Yasmin Shimin (spelled in the record) confirmed she and her contractor intend to build to the conceptual plan presented and that any material change would require return to the commission. The commission moved to recommend the rezoning; the chair called a voice vote and the motion carried.
The recommendation now goes to the Jefferson County Commission for final action.
