Kane County veterans service officer Nate Johnson honored with national award; announces move to McHenry County

Kane County veterans service officer Nate Johnson was presented the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers President's Award during the Sept. 9 County Board meeting. Johnson accepted thanks, credited his team and partners including the Veterans Assistance Commission, and announced he has accepted a position as superintendent of the McHenry County Veterans Assistance Commission starting in November. He told the board he plans to remain involved with the Kane County Veterans Treatment Court as a mentor.
