The Franklin County Commission approved a contract and bonding for a bridge on Calvi Creek Road over Brady Creek and accepted other transportation-related actions while staff reported a scheduled reopening of Highway 100 following a landslide.
Commission Order 2025-248 authorized a contract and bond with KJ Hunterstall Construction Company for construction of the Calvi Creek Road bridge over Brady Creek. A commissioner moved and a second carried the order by unanimous voice vote.
County staff also reported that East-West Gateway'the regional planning and transportation organization'has approved Franklin County's request for funding for three bridge structures in the fiscal-year 2027-28 package. The county was notified that approximately $3,700,000 in funding will support Beaumont Road Bridge, Dry Branch and Project Road Bridge work; staff said the projects are eligible for an 80/20 federal-state/local split. The county described two of the three as low-water crossings being made safer.
The commission also approved Commission Order 2025-250, authorizing execution of a Show-Me program agreement with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission for $8,500.
Roadway operations updates came from county public-works staff. On the Highway 100 landslide, a staff member identified in the transcript as Jim said, "Unfortunately, it's probably gonna be the last update I give you because, we're gonna open it to traffic tomorrow at 03:00." He said the road will open in both directions, will be striped and have safety features in place, and that crews will continue addressing the slide itself.
The bridge contract, the Show-Me agreement and the East-West Gateway funding were presented and approved without recorded opposition. The transcript contains no further budget detail for the KJ Hunterstall contract beyond the motion to approve the contract and bond.
Officials and staff discussed the local complexity of jurisdictional policing and bridge locations during related agenda items but offered no timeline for each bridge project's start date beyond the East-West Gateway approval; the transcript reported only the funding approval and the $3,700,000 total figure for the three structures.
