City leaders reported they selected Innovative Public Advisors to facilitate Neenah’s first citywide strategic plan and outlined a timeline that would include council, department heads and community input. The mayor said the city hopes to complete the strategic plan by the end of the year and proposed a council workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to begin the process.
Staff also announced that an RFP for an organizational review of Neenah‑Menasha Fire Rescue will be released; the mayor said the RFP goes out the following day. Council members asked whether the strategic plan will be implemented in 2026 and the mayor replied that is the intent. No formal actions or funding decisions were made at the Sept. 3 meeting; staff will return with schedules and deliverables.
