Scotty, the district athletics presenter, told the school board that fall sports are near midseason and postseason play is about four weeks away, and he reviewed operations, revenues and new digital services for school athletics.
Scotty said the district will host two cross‑country regionals (to be held in Polk County), noted homecoming, a Hall of Fame game and related events, and said the athletic department has 29 banner sponsors this year. He told the board the district’s streaming/film service, Huddle, unexpectedly increased in cost by about $1,500 and that outdoor camera packages can add recurring fees; the district is reviewing recurring subscription terms. On subscriptions, Scotty said Huddle gives teams streaming and film storage; teams without outdoor cameras can still upload footage from devices for review.
On revenue, Scotty said gate receipts through early season events amount to about 21 percent of the previous year’s projected gate total because only a small portion of home events have occurred so far. Online store merchandise has produced modest revenue; about 15–20 volleyball subscriptions and 15–20 online store orders were used as early tests. Banner sponsorship and concessions show positive trends: concessions gross at about 58 percent (gross margin), and new card‑reader sales added roughly $300–$400 to event receipts in recent nights. Scotty said some costs (Pepsi products) required concession price increases to preserve margins.
Scotty also described pilot fundraising and donor tools (leading vendor: Leading Edge) and said an alumni program and benefit tournaments are under consideration. He noted collaboration with the booster club on the online store and suggested more proactive outreach (QR codes, banners at events, email chains) to increase sales. The athletic report was informational; no board action was taken.
