Jan Folly, the parks department administrator, told the Logosport Parks and Recreation Board on Sept. 10 that the Spencer Park playground installation is complete and that a final surface (engineered wood fiber) will be installed after Live United Day. A chamber ribbon cutting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m., and the public grand opening will be Saturday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m., Folly said.
Kevin, who manages installations, said the contractor (GameTime) finished the equipment and the remaining work is transferring mulch into place; volunteers planned to help during Live United Day. He said utilities work removing lead water lines at Spencer Park is finished and that the park will also receive at least two more cameras as part of the department’s surveillance rollout.
Folly and board members asked that staff be available for the chamber ribbon cutting and the public opening; multiple members indicated they may attend the Sept. 20 public event. No formal board vote was required; staff asked the board to note the dates and to participate in the grand opening.
