Board approves appraisal of 2520 Stadium Drive to allow future sale or gift

The Board of Public Works and Safety on Sept. 10 approved an appraisal of the property at 2520 Stadium Drive at the request of the Redevelopment Commission, enabling the city to evaluate options to sell or gift the parcel later.

Board members discussed whether the appraisal request originated with the Clerk-Treasurer’s office or the Redevelopment Commission; staff clarified the item came from the RDC. The appraisal will establish market value so the city can make a future decision on disposition.

The board approved the appraisal services by voice vote. No appraisal price or valuation was presented at the meeting; the action was limited to authorizing procurement of appraisal services.

The item was introduced as a preparatory step to give the city information ahead of any decision to transfer, sell or otherwise convey the property.
