The Board of Public Works and Safety approved an appraisal contract for city property at 2520 Stadium Drive on Sept. 10 so the Redevelopment Commission can consider future sale or transfer.

The appraisal is intended to establish a market value for the parcel before the city proceeds with a potential sale or donation, a city representative said.

Board members discussed whether the appraisal request came from the Clerk-Treasurer’s office or the Redevelopment Commission; the item was confirmed as an RDC request. The board moved to approve the appraisal services; the motion passed unanimously.

The board did not adopt any disposition decision at the meeting — the appraisal was limited to valuation work so that the Redevelopment Commission and relevant city bodies can evaluate options at a later time.
