At the Sept. 9 meeting the Decatur Public Schools Board of Education urged community participation in the superintendent search and announced a district job fair. Board leadership said the superintendent search survey opened Monday, Sept. 8 and will close Tuesday, Sept. 16, and encouraged community members to complete it to inform the search and interview process. The board described superintendent hiring as one of its most important responsibilities and asked the public to provide input through the district website. Dr. Clark and board leadership also announced a district “tailgate” job fair scheduled for Sept. 19 at 3 p.m., held before the Panthers vs. Generals game kickoff at MacArthur High School; interested applicants were invited to attend. The board reminded the public that the district-wide half day is Sept. 17 and that required immunizations and physicals deadline for students is Oct. 15, 2025. These items were informational announcements; no board votes were required.
