CPZ presents working drafts of comprehensive plan chapters; committee asked to review goals and objectives

Lori Miss Kimmons, director of Planning and Zoning, and planner Jeff Pritchard updated the Executive Committee on the Marathon County comprehensive plan and asked members to review working drafts of chapters 2 through 13 before the October committee meeting.
Kimmons said chapters 3–12 include issue statements, goals and objectives that the department drafted after prior public and committee meetings. She said the drafts are posted on the county website and that the department will consolidate goals and objectives from chapters 3–12 into a single PDF for committee review. Kimmons asked members to focus their review on the issue statements and goal/objective language because those items feed into priorities for the county’s next strategic plan.
Kimmons highlighted several chapter updates: Chapter 3 (Health and Human Services) has new pulse data and an added issue statement referencing possible forthcoming changes in income maintenance and Medicaid programs; Chapter 10 now includes language about the CWA service development fund; Chapter 12 adds material about intergovernmental coordination for state and federal funds used in the county. She noted the drafts still require formatting, graphics and a few data updates and asked for committee comments ahead of the October 21 meeting.
No formal action was requested; the department asked the committee to review the draft chapters and submit comments for the October agenda.
Ending: Kimmons said a consolidated document of goals, objectives and issue statements will be circulated to committee members and that staff will return to the October Executive Committee meeting for discussion.
