County nearing completion of shelter frontage work; contract with Taycon LLC authorized

Lewis County commissioners on Sept. 9 approved Resolution 25-251, authorizing a contract and the first change order with Taycon LLC for construction of shelter frontage improvements. The commissioners voted 2-0 to approve the deliberation items package that included this resolution.
Eric Eisenberg presented the item and said Taycon (packet spelled Taycon/Taycan in audio) was the low bidder and the bid was "well within our estimate," including a change related to design changes identified after project investigation. "If you're driving by on Christie, you can see that the new bus pullout is there and paved," he said, adding he would meet with Taycon and Matt Patana, capital facilities manager, to finalize outstanding items.
The resolution and associated change order were included in a set of deliberation items approved by the board. The presentation indicated the work was nearly complete; no additional contract dollar amounts were read aloud during the meeting audio.
