Court authorizes county judge to sign pooled Ricoh copier leases

Van Zandt County Commissioners Court authorized the county judge to sign two Ricoh equipment-lease agreements that consolidate multiple copiers into pooled leases. County staff explained that consolidating copiers into a pooled meter-count reduces the likelihood of per-unit overage charges: when one device goes over its allotment, the pooled balance covers the excess. Staff said the pooled agreements covered roughly nine copiers divided into a six-unit pool and a three-unit pool and include full service and toner. A county staff member who manages the copiers reported that the pooling arrangement reduced overall costs and provided full service maintenance. The court discussed monthly costs during the item; one commissioner stated the monthly total for the larger pool was roughly $945 with maintenance and toner included. After brief discussion, the court voted to authorize the county judge to execute the two Ricoh equipment lease agreements.
