Staff said roughly half of the requested allocation would cover additional contractor compensation and half would pay for extended temporary locker‑room facilities so pools could remain open while final work finishes.
Staff said substantial completion was anticipated “around the 26th of this month” (presentation phrasing) but that an opening date would depend on punch‑list work and final inspections. Committee members asked for a concise accounting of the total cost of work at the community center (slide replacement, pool repairs, temporary locker rooms and the locker‑room contract) and staff agreed to provide a single, concise spreadsheet for council members ahead of the next council meeting.
The committee approved forwarding the allocation to the Sept. 16 consent agenda; staff said they will continue to manage close‑out activities and report timelines and a final cost summary to council.
