The Pecos City Council on Sept. 11 approved naming Field 2 at Cyclone Ballpark the "Cruz Gomez Junior Legacy Field." The motion was made by Councilman Arona and seconded by Councilwoman Trujillo and carried by voice vote.

Council members also noted a separate, pending sponsorship proposal for naming rights to Field 2 (or Field 2 sponsorship) and said any commercial naming-rights contract would be reviewed through an appropriate contract process.
