The Albany County Commissioners met Oct. 21 and approved a series of contracts, procurement actions and administrative items. Key approvals included authorizing the clerk to advertise two new county retail liquor licenses after a population increase, awarding a grader purchase contract, and approving several agreements connected to the Albany County Court Supervised Treatment (drug court) program.

Liquor licenses: Kayla (county staff) told commissioners that the Wyoming Liquor Division notified the county that updated 2024 census figures increased Albany County’s population by “a little over 600,” which the division said entitles the county to two additional retail liquor licenses. Kayla reported that Albany County currently holds 10 retail licenses (all filled), one club license (Fox Run), one microbrewery permit, one winery permit and one restaurant liquor license (Old Corral). After discussion about demand and potential applicants, including comments from a local business owner identified as BJ, the board voted to advertise the two new county retail licenses, accept applications and schedule the required public hearing(s).
