The City of Cleveland Economic Development Corporation voted on leadership appointments during its August meeting.

Board members nominated Chuck Thompson for president; the motion passed after a roll call in which Thompson abstained from voting on his own appointment. A board member said, “I think I’ll abstain for either voting for or against myself,” and the chair confirmed the motion passed with the abstention.

The board also confirmed Michelle Wyatt as treasurer. The board voted on Wyatt’s appointment and the motion passed unanimously.

Board members discussed vice-president status for Brent McWaters and indicated no change if he remained available to serve, and staff said they would work to fill any other vacancies as needed.
