Lee County wins $783,000 IDOT grant for road resurfacing on Lee Center Road

County board staff reported that Lee County was awarded a $783,000 grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation community project funding initiative.
Jeremy, county board staff, said the selected project will pave Lee Center Road from Shaw Road to Inlet Road — a connector between Amboy and Lee Center — replacing a seal-coated surface with hot-mix asphalt. He said the project will also allow corrections to superelevations on some curves.
Jeremy said the county submitted roughly five applications and that the retaining-wall project at the old courthouse did not receive funding.
No formal motion related to the grant award was recorded during the meeting; staff described the award as a “win” and discussed next steps for project delivery.
