The City of Kingman will launch a new civic mobile application, Kingman AZ Connect, to let residents report concerns, receive targeted notifications and access city services and calendar information, staff said Oct. 21.
Communications and IT staff said the city selected the GoGov (CiviMobile) platform after evaluating several vendors. The procurement used the Omnia cooperative contract and the one‑time project cost was $25,998. The app will integrate with the city website and replace the existing online report‑a‑concern form so residents have a single reporting workflow.
Staff demonstrated features: users can register and set a home address so they receive geofenced push notifications (e.g., road closures affecting their address); report issues with photos and GPS‑verified locations; track request status and receive email confirmations; and subscribe to topic‑based alerts. Staff said push notifications are enabled by default for app users, text messaging is not yet activated, and there is a desktop/web reporting option for residents without smartphones. City staff responsible for affected departments will receive workflow items to triage and dispatch requests.
Staff said they will also publicize the app’s event calendar feed (sourced from the tourism/events site) and encouraged residents and event organizers to submit events for inclusion. The app is scheduled to go live the day after the council meeting; staff said data submitted through the app is retained by the city and not published externally except as required for public records.
