Chamber of Commerce schedules business summit, invites regional chambers

The Preston Chamber of Commerce reported to the council that it will host a business summit on Sept. 18 at the Robinson Building from 6 to 8 p.m. The summit will include presentations on recent tax changes, business growth strategies, funding options and the use of artificial intelligence in small businesses. The chamber said the event is free and that it will invite neighboring chambers (Downey, Soda Springs and Bear Lake) to participate.
Chamber staff also said the group will not hold its regular Service Groups outreach meeting in September but plans other initiatives later in the year to help local service clubs recruit volunteers. For public-policy outreach, the chamber plans an October lunch-and-learn (third Thursday in October) inviting local candidates for brief platform remarks to help business members learn about races and platforms; the chamber said it will not host a debate.
The chamber reported a ribbon-cutting for a Kiwanis booth at the rodeo grounds and welcomed a new member organization: the Sixth Judicial District Court-Appointed Special Advocates program.
