Homestead council approves agreement with H2M for Whitcott Park water project

The City Council of the City of Homestead on Aug. 5 authorized the city manager to accept a proposal from H2M Architects & Engineers Inc. and enter an agreement to deliver the Whitcott Park water treatment facility project and to expend grant funds for implementation.
The resolution, introduced by staff and presented as a single-item staff report waiver, passed on a roll-call vote. After a call for public comment produced no speakers, council members voted yes and the mayor announced, “The motion carried.”
Council did not record additional debate on technical design, change orders or funding sources during the discussion at the meeting. The agenda description presented to council identified the item as a resolution authorizing the city manager to accept H2M’s proposal, enter an agreement for the project, authorize expenditure of grant funds, provide for implementation and set an effective date.
