Board awards roughly $1.14 million overlay contract for East border gateway to Rove Engineering

John Gay, Imperial County Public Works director, asked the board on Oct. 21 to approve a construction contract with Rove Engineering for an overlay project at the east border gateway.

Gay told the board three bids were received and Rove Engineering was the “lowest responsible and responsive bidder.” He recommended approval “in the amount of roughly $1,137,000,” and said approval would allow staff to issue a notice to proceed and begin overlay work in the gateway area.

Supervisor Ryan Elliot Kelly moved to approve the contract; Supervisor Martha Cardenas Singh seconded the motion. The board recorded the motion and the chair announced, “Motion carries.”
