Council delays vote on junk‑dealer license for Ruffner Road site after administration requests resurvey

The council on Oct. 21 delayed action for three weeks on a resolution to grant a junk‑dealer license to IQAP, doing business as EZ Pull and Pay, for 1849 Ruffner Road after city staff asked the applicant to resurvey two acreage parcels to comply with the zoning ordinance.

Roger Colovin, who services subdivision plans for the city, told the council the condition for the item is that the applicant must resurvey the parcels for zoning compliance. Council members noted the item had already been recommended at the Public Safety Committee; the administration asked for additional information and the applicant was given a two‑week resurvey timeframe but the council ultimately approved a three‑week delay to return with corrected materials.

During the roll call on the delay, Council President Pro Tem Crystal Clark cast the lone recorded “no” vote; the motion to delay otherwise passed and the item will return to the council in three weeks for further consideration.

No final decision on the license was taken on Oct. 21.
