The motion specified flexibility for the city’s participation (loan or grant terms) and the council asked staff to treat the city’s commitment as a future budgetary item; the vote carried 5–0.
Fire truck purchase: The council authorized the mayor to execute a proposal with 10‑8 Fire and Safety (Pierce/authorized vendor) for a mid‑mount aerial platform ladder truck (planned delivery in roughly 40–42 months). The council and staff discussed long lead times for apparatus, a four‑year production queue and an estimated purchase price of about $2.4 million; the motion passed 5–0.
No citizen referendum or regulatory ordinances were adopted in these items. Staff said planned expenditures will be budgeted across future fiscal years and that grant opportunities will be pursued where available.
