The Town of Davie approved its consent agenda and later approved a revised agenda item, then heard a staff update that the Community Redevelopment Agency has opened surplus-property procedures for several Davie Road parcels.
At the meeting, the council first voted to accept the consent agenda with item 2 removed. The council later approved item 2 as revised; both votes were taken by voice and recorded as unanimous.
Mr. Holste, a board member, told the council he had three property updates related to Davie Road. "We received the unsolicited proposal for those properties. So we've initiated the surplus process, and that closes on November 5," he said, referring to the parcel that formerly housed the Wendy's Flashback Diner and a business listed as Suite Alchemy. He said the Davie CRA had received two unsolicited proposals for the northwest corner of Orange Drive and Davie Road and that the surplus process for that corner will close on November 12.
"This is actually a town acquisition that was approved," Mr. Holste said of a vacant parcel across from Our Lady of Victory, adding that the acquisition is proceeding and "will close by October 30."
The presiding officer also noted routine items in the officers' and public works reports, including new Wayfair signs appearing in the town's enhancement area. Cheryl, a staff member, was asked to add details about Davie Road and said she had none to add. Mr. Windfall had no comments.
The meeting closed with a scheduling note: the next meeting is set for November 5; the presiding officer indicated the meeting would reconvene at 6:30 p.m.
