Davie council approves consent items, tables multiple code and land-use items; adopts 10-year CIP

The Town of Davie Council approved its consent agenda, adopted a 10-year capital improvement program and voted to table several code and land-use items to later meetings during its regular session.

The council voted unanimously to approve the consent agenda with the exception of item 1, which was considered separately after a disclosure by the mayor that she serves as an unpaid member of the Old Davie School board. The council then approved the renewal agreement listed as consent item 1.

Council members held individual roll-call votes to table several items: building fee schedule (tabled to Sept. 17), ordinance first-reading code amendment No. 17 (tabled to Nov. 5), code amendment No. 18 (tabled to Nov. 5), code amendment No. 19 (tabled to Sept. 17), land-use amendment No. 20 (tabled to Sept. 17) and rezoning No. 21 (tabled to Sept. 17). The clerk recorded roll-call votes on those tablings as part of the consent procedure.

On a separate public hearing, the council adopted the town’s 10-year capital improvement program (CIP) for fiscal years 2026 forward by roll call. The clerk read the resolution title into the record before the vote.

The council also approved the list of appointments to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and confirmed an appointment of Shelly Petaveri to the Public Art Advisory Committee.

Separately, a motion to reconsider variance V25-065 Marti — made by a council member who said they had received new information after the prior meeting — passed, meaning the variance will be reheard at the next available council meeting; the clerk said affected parties will be notified.
