Davie to partner with Nova Southeastern University on six‑week financial literacy series starting Sept. 16

The Town of Davie will launch a six‑session financial literacy series in partnership with Nova Southeastern University’s Alvin Sherman Library beginning Sept. 16, staff announced Wednesday.
Program details Debbie Thomas, the town’s economic development manager, said the series responds to a council suggestion and to the town’s 2025 vision and goal‑setting session. The six classes will cover topics that include managing income and credit, finance for single persons, shopping strategies, the psychology of planning, practical investments and key tax‑filing information. Classes will run every other Tuesday from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and will be offered both in person at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library and virtually.
Priority and related programming Thomas said the program is free for the public with registration priority for Town of Davie residents and businesses. Registration will be handled through NSU’s library website. She also noted that FAU Davie and Hispanic Unity will host a Spanish‑language entrepreneurship boot camp on Thursdays in September at the FAU Davie campus; town staff said they will post sign‑up information on the town’s social media channels.
