Ravena schedules Halloween logistics, firehouse open house and candy drive; decorating-judging set Oct. 26

The village announced that the firehouse will be open on Halloween evening for visitors along Main Street, continuing a recent practice. The fire department also held a recent recruitment/orientation event aimed at cadets aged 12 to 16; officials described it as an orientation meant to familiarize younger residents with the department and encourage future recruitment.
The Halloween decorating contest judging will occur Oct. 26, with winners to be announced Nov. 18; gift-card prizes from local businesses were mentioned. The VFW is collecting leftover candy to ship to members of the military; residents were invited to drop donations at Village Hall.
