Hot Springs — The Hot Springs City Council approved a retail on‑ and off‑sale malt beverage and South Dakota farm wine license for Dave’s Superfood Truck LLC, doing business as The Bunker, during a public hearing Monday night.
Applicant Terry Link and her husband Al told the council they plan a sit‑down, family‑friendly gathering space attached to their food and bakery operation and emphasized the business would not be a place for all‑day drinking. Resident supporters spoke during public comment, describing the truck as a positive addition to the community.
The council opened a public hearing and invited the applicant to speak. Terry Link said the business has been in Hot Springs for about two years and is expanding into a permanent building; she described family seating, bakery and other food offerings and said, “I don’t want anyone to think this is a place that you can come and sit all day and drink, that’s not what it’s going to be.”
After hearing from the applicant and several residents who expressed support, a council member moved to approve the license application. The motion passed by voice vote.
Details: The application was for a retail on‑ and off‑sale malt beverage and South Dakota farm wine license for Dave’s Superfood Truck LLC, doing business as The Bunker. The motion specified the license would be used at the address identified in the motion as 635 Johnson Highway (as stated in the council motion). The council did not record a roll call for the vote; minutes show the motion passed.
