Commission appoints members to salary-study committee and encourages webinar participation

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners discussed the upcoming county salary study and appointed committee members to review NACO’s updated salary study tool and recommend updates consistent with state statute.
The chair proposed a committee composed of: County Clerk Becky Roussell (or her designee), County Assessor Julie Stinger, County Treasurer Sherry Newton, Commissioner Kent Weems, and potentially Commissioner Williams (who accepted the seat). The board encouraged committee members and other interested staff to attend a NACO webinar scheduled for Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. that will demonstrate the updated salary-study website and methodology.
The chair said the committee’s recommendations and any required county action must be completed before Jan. 15, 2026 to comply with state statute governing salary adjustments in election years. Hard-copy materials were provided to commissioners for review; committee members will coordinate next steps and the chair asked staff to distribute webinar registration details.
