Commissioners hear introduction to extend Silver Hills development agreement; public speaker urges denial

In public comment, resident Tammy Holt Still urged commissioners to deny the extension. She said the project had previously been denied by the regional planning commission (citing findings that the project did not meet water, sewer and traffic standards) and called it a “ghost or zombie project.” Another resident, Russ Earl, also spoke earlier during public comment urging the board to be cautious about approving further extensions for projects that, in his view, had not secured adequate infrastructure funding or permit compliance.
Ending: The ordinance was introduced for first reading; further hearings or votes will be needed for final approval. Commissioners did not take a final adoption vote at this meeting.
