The San Leandro City Council on Monday approved a resolution correcting an administrative error in the master salary schedule to reflect the city manager’s previously approved July 1, 2025 salary.
Human Resources Director Emily Hung told the council that a rate inadvertently remained on the schedule for the former city manager and that the approved 3.5% July 1 salary adjustment for the current city manager, Cameron, should have appeared on the posted master salary schedule. Hung said the annual salary for the city manager should be $362,250, equal to $30,187.50 per month, and that the correction carries no new budget impact because the increase had already been approved and included in the budget.
Council Member Victor Aguilar moved to adopt the correction; Council Member Bolt seconded. Council Member Bolt asked whether staff would make the city manager whole for the shortfall; Hung said a retroactive correction will be processed to address the small difference in prior pay periods.
The motion passed 6-0-1, with Council Member Viveiros Walton absent.
Ending
The council placed the corrected master salary schedule in the record and directed staff to implement the retroactive payroll correction. No additional fiscal appropriation was required.
