Human Resources reported to the Greenfield Union Elementary School District board on Oct. 9 that the district has reduced vacancies and is supporting teacher credentialing and staff recognition efforts.
Director of Human Resources (presenting) said the district began the 2025–26 school year with 36 vacancies and that by the time of the board meeting 33 had been filled, leaving three remaining vacancies. The presentation stated that roughly 98% of positions were filled. The director noted that the district ran 12 job fairs during the recruitment cycle, conducted over 100 interviews, and supported teacher credentialing work that converted 11 employees from permit status to intern or preliminary credentials this school year.
The HR presentation also summarized employee recognition programs (employee of the week, teacher of the year nominations coordinated with the county office), compliance and credentialing responsibilities, and professional learning. The director described districtwide efforts to support special education staffing — citing training for registered behavior technicians (RBTs), bus-rider training and on-site employee presentations — and said HR is one of the few districts in the county maintaining in‑district credential support for teachers and administrators.
The board and superintendent recognized an HR specialist (referred to in the meeting as Patty) for nine years of dedicated service to the district. Board members praised the HR team as "small but mighty," and noted the impact of HR work on hiring, onboarding and supporting students and staff.
There was no action vote tied to the HR report; it was presented for information and discussion.
