The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Board of Education accepted regional recognition at a special work session on Oct. 21, 2025, when the OSBA Northeast Regional Manager presented awards to district staff and board members.
OSBA Northeast Regional Manager said the association "is very honored" to present the district's nominations during a fall regional conference that represents 19 counties and about 223 schools. The manager presented a plaque and certificate to Mr. Doug Phil as the OSBA Northeast region's outstanding classified employee, congratulated Board member Ashley King for completing the OSBA board aptitude test, and gave Board member Erin Lee a 10-year service recognition and an executive-committee name tag.
The OSBA Northeast Regional Manager described the board aptitude test as requiring an 80% passing score in topics including policy and finance. The presenter said relatively few board members take the voluntary exam because of the required passing score. Ashley King was singled out for successfully completing that certification.
Erin Lee was recognized for 10 years of service and was given an official name tag for participation in the OSBA regional executive committee. The presenter encouraged attendees to visit OSBA at the upcoming Capitol Conference.
The special meeting opened at 6:06 p.m. and concluded shortly after the presentations; the board recessed without an executive session and adjourned at 6:11 p.m. No formal votes or motions related to the awards were recorded in the available transcript.
