Quincy City licensing board approves special-use permit, one-day liquor licenses and business transfers

The Quincy City Licensing Board approved a series of special-use permits, one-day liquor licenses and common victualler licenses at a licensing hearing, allowing a high-school holiday shopping expo, a New England Free Jacks fan event, multiple one-day event permits for a new Hancock Street retail business, and the transfer of corporate cafeteria operations to a new operator.

The approvals included a special-use permit for North Quincy High School Parent Advisory Council’s annual holiday shopping expo at North Quincy High School on Nov. 8–9, with event hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and food-truck service (five trucks Saturday, four Sunday). According to the applicant, the event draws roughly 3,000 customers across the two days. The board approved the permit by motion and a voice vote.

The board also approved a one-day liquor license for the New England Free Jacks’ fan event at Veterans Memorial Stadium, 850 Hancock Street, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will include fan activities, player meet-and-greets and a small bar inside the stadium.
