The Design Review Board on Sept. 10 approved construction of a two‑story, two‑car garage at 151 Van Damme, subject to final porch details returning to the board for approval.
Architect Sean Corp presented a revised design after zoning-board review; the changes moved a powder room from the Second Floor to the First Floor and shifted the gable dormer to center over the garage doors. The board reviewed materials and finishes: forest‑green Andersen E‑series aluminum‑clad wood windows, a composite column with Tuscan capital for the small covered entry, Clopay Coachman-style overhead doors with a mahogany composite finish, James Hardie smooth lap siding to match the main house, and Champlain thin granite veneer at exposed foundation areas. The applicant proposed Trex (composite deck) for the porch decking and a composite railing system with cable infill.
Board members approved the overall design but asked the applicant to return with porch decking and baluster details. Jeff Wood moved to approve the project while excluding final porch details for later review; Rob DeBauf seconded and the board passed the motion in voice vote. Staff said the porch detail return could be on a future consent agenda depending on scope.
