Fulton Middle School presented a campus report to the Rockport‑Fulton ISD board on Oct. 16 highlighting student programs, new scheduling and community partnerships.
Mr. House (Fulton Middle School) said the campus is expanding student involvement through clubs and programs: the Hope Squad, TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) with initial membership growing from about eight to roughly 20 students, a STEM program, choir, podcasting and a new peace room funded by an education foundation grant. The school also held Hispanic Heritage Month activities and student recognition for reading.
House described a new 30‑minute flex period, placed immediately after third period, that focuses initially on student ownership and executive functioning—students check grades in Skyward, set weekly goals and build organizational skills. He said the campus is offering high‑school credit courses (Spanish I, Art I, Digital Media, and a college‑and‑career exploration class) to help students reduce future credit burdens and preserve options for athletics and electives.
The campus reported passing a door‑check safety audit with TEA and noted ongoing parent‑training efforts (Skyward workshops) led by staff. House also said the campus received a Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries grant funded by Citgo of “just under $8,000” to renovate a courtyard garden used for family and instructional activities. Joseph Fox, a seventh‑grade Texas history teacher, was recognized as the campus celebrated educators.
The presentation was informational; no board action was requested.
