Commission approves law enforcement training agreements for three recruits

The Davis County Commission on Oct. 21 approved three training agreements for recruits in the sheriff’s office, funding academy costs with a two‑year service commitment tied to each recruit’s academy start date.
Chief Deputy Butcher of the Davis County Sheriff’s Office presented three law enforcement certification training agreements. The first agreement is for Jason Parker Conover in the amount of $17,067 and begins on the recruit’s first day at the academy, running two years from that date. The second is for Michael Wayne Boone in the amount of $17,942 with the same start/term structure. The third agreement covers Colt and Sean Willwright for $17,067.07 and likewise begins on the first day of the academy and runs two years.
Chief Deputy Butcher said the agreements should have been on the consent agenda but were pulled for discussion. The agreements are payable from the county general fund, within the public safety and criminal justice budget.
Commissioner John Cross moved to approve items 10–12; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote recorded in the transcript as “Aye.”
