Sheriff Lane explained the county's older system is obsolete and that the vendor's offer would allow the county to outfit three additional patrol cars for about the price of two. "...we're getting 3 of them for about the cost of 2," Lane said, adding the total to order three units would be $15,802.50 and that the purchase could be paid from his existing budget. Commissioners voted by voice to order the equipment and the motion carried.
Lane told the commissioners the three units would complete in‑car camera coverage for the eight patrol cars currently used for patrol duties and would replace an obsolete system for which parts are no longer available. The commissioners did not add other conditions to the purchase.
