The board approved a bid (Tri State Paving) to do transition work over culverts on Ramsey County 4 and two spots on Ramsey County 3; staff noted FEMA funds were available for those projects and asked the commission to authorize the work so it could be completed this year. Commissioners also accepted a low bid from Lamont's for carpeting in county offices.
The commission approved payment of a soft‑spot repair bill and a larger payment for Ramsey County 7 work, and approved KLJ invoices: $10,744.66 for construction engineering at 80 Ninth Avenue South (Minnewaukon) and $10,904.68 for preliminary engineering on 2026 thin‑lift projects on Woods Rotten Road and Macquarie Road (Ramsey County 4 from Ramsey County 8 to North Dakota 17). Several of the items proceeded after roll calls; others were handled by motion and voice vote.
Highway staff reported that some emergency relief projects had already been completed and opened ahead of schedule and that the FlexFund applications had been submitted and would be decided by year end. Staff also noted KLJ will provide a hydraulics contract draft for another project at a later meeting.
Commissioners asked staff questions about project scopes and schedules and directed staff to provide answers to public inquiries about which roads would receive thin‑lift work next year.
