Board approves mower and tractor purchases, finance filings and support for DMACC program

Special-education funding request

Tammy explained the district is submitting an application for modified allowable growth through the SBRC to address a special-education deficit; she said the deficit amount discussed was $575,005.76 and attributed the increase to more students with higher needs, additional paraprofessionals and higher-level students.

DMACC Career Academy support

Dr. Gray (district leadership referenced in the packet) and other presenters said Nevada is a heavy user of DMACC Career Academy services and that a new information-technology program at the Hunsaker Center would expand options for students. The district's approval was limited to a letter and MOU expressing support for DMACC’s grant application; no district funding commitment was requested.
