Board proclaims Oct. 2025 Red Ribbon Week; county partners outlining community events

The Tulare County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 21 read and acknowledged a proclamation recognizing the week of October 2025 as Red Ribbon Week and invited residents to local prevention events.
Bob Mayo, administrator for the Tulare County Office of Education Choices programs, told the board this is the 16th consecutive year the Tulare County Office of Education and the Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency have collaborated to promote Red Ribbon Week. Mayo said this year’s county observance adopts the national theme “Life Is a Puzzle — Solve It Drug Free” and highlighted a free family event scheduled for Oct. 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tulare County Office of Education complex. Mayo described activities planned for the event including music, a petting zoo, magic shows and informational booths and said red ribbons and flyers were available for board members.
The proclamation text read to the board referenced federal agencies and national partners involved in Red Ribbon Week, naming the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and the National Family Partnership. The board recorded the proclamation with signatures dated Oct. 21, 2025.
