Montezuma County commissioners voted Oct. 21 to accept bids for county janitorial services and approve contracts for 2026, following a facilities staff recommendation.
Dustin, who led the janitorial walkthrough and bid solicitation, told commissioners the low bids were highlighted and recommended those vendors. "We had our janitorial walk through. We had more bids than usual with that bid net. The low bids are highlighted in yellow, and that would be my recommendation," Dustin said.
A commissioner moved to accept the bids "for janitorial services from Montezuma County as presented." The motion was seconded, and commissioners recorded their approval with "Aye" votes. Staff agreed to provide a comparison showing how the recommended bids compare to the prior year's costs before the end of the day, since the figure might be discussed at an evening meeting.
Why it matters: The contracts set vendor responsibilities for cleaning county facilities during 2026 and affect operating budgets for facilities management.
The board approved the contracts during its regular session; no amendments were recorded on the floor.
