Lake County planning commission continues Box Creek gravel-mining permit to Nov. 10

The Lake County Planning Commission unanimously approved a motion to continue File 24-03, the Box Creek gravel-mining conditional-use permit, to a Nov. 10 hearing at the applicant’s request.
The Lake County Planning Commission on Oct. 20 voted unanimously to continue consideration of File 24-03, the Box Creek gravel-mining conditional-use permit (CUP), to a Nov. 10 hearing after the applicant asked for more time to discuss suggested conditions of approval.
The applicant requested a continuance so staff and the applicant could continue discussing suggested conditions, planning staff said. Commissioner Joey Edwards moved to continue the item; a commissioner seconded the motion and the commission voted in favor. The motion to continue was approved unanimously.
The commission did not debate the substance of the CUP at the Oct. 20 meeting; commissioners instead agreed to hear the matter at the Nov. 10 meeting so the applicant and staff could address outstanding questions. Planning staff noted Shelby was filling in and planned to help with future roll calls.
The item will return to the commission’s Nov. 10 meeting for further consideration of the Box Creek CUP and its suggested conditions of approval.
