El Paso County commissioners approve consent calendar; commissioner flags water, drainage and veterans issues

He noted participation in a Fountain Creek Watershed District board meeting and said he and Commissioner Williams are preparing for a meeting with an umbrella organization representing homeowner associations in northern El Paso County, including Monument and Woodmoor.
He reported meeting with the county Department of Public Works drainage and stormwater crew and said he met an HOA group in the Cheyenne area that raised questions about county operations and the budget. Wysong asked for community support for veterans and essential government workers amid what he called the federal "shutdown," and referenced an upcoming Stand Down for Colorado homeless veterans at the Mount Carmel Veteran Center. "So please keep, all of our essential governmental workers, thoughts and prayers," he said. "And, hopefully, this craziness with the shutdown will be, over soon."
The board took a brief recess later for a technical issue and then resumed business.
